The UA-50 speaker is a special development to commemorate USHER's fiftieth anniversary. It features the challenging craftsmanship of curved wooden cabinet construction, employing a three-way bass reflex design to achieve a wider soundstage in a medium-sized bookshelf speaker. The drivers also include USHER's long-refined DMD diamond tweeter and composite fiber mid-bass driver, forming the foundation for excellent sound quality. The precisely designed crossover network incorporates carefully selected high-performance capacitors and air-core inductors to achieve uncompromising sonic performance.

Speaker

The UA-50 employs highly challenging curved wooden cabinet construction with an asymmetrical shape, creating a front-wide, rear-narrow design to reduce internal backwave reflections while retaining an elegant curved appearance that meets both aesthetic and performance needs. The cabinet has a thickness of 30mm, providing ample rigidity while suppressing resonances that could color the sound. The front grille is made of high-transparency acoustic fabric with metal mesh backing to protect the drivers while ensuring sound transmission without compromising sound quality. Additionally, the bottom of the speaker features specially designed spikes and spike bases for stable coupling with the placement surface.

Tweeter

In celebration of USHER's fiftieth anniversary, the UA-50 incorporates the most comprehensive 1.25" DMD (Diamond-Metal-Diamond) composite material diaphragm tweeter ever used by the manufacturer. This tweeter overcomes the distortion issues found in traditional metal diaphragms below their resonance frequency, providing excellent high-frequency extension and pure sound performance.

Midrange

The 5.25" midrange driver uses a composite material diaphragm made of paper fiber, carbon fiber, and Kevlar. The diaphragm surface is treated with a damping coating, and the suspension material is soft yet resilient, achieving lightweight characteristics while ensuring rigidity and internal damping. This design achieves fast and low-distortion, linear response, providing the foundation for the purest sound.

Bass

The 8" large-diameter bass driver primarily uses paper fiber with the addition of carbon fiber to maintain the necessary mass for low-frequency extension while ensuring adequate rigidity and appropriate internal damping. It possesses the required characteristics for both low-frequency extension and dynamic performance, delivering excellent low-frequency performance.

Crossover Network

In addition to using high-performance capacitors and air-core inductors, the crossover points are set at 400Hz and 2.3kHz. For a three-way design like the UA-50, the lower crossover point of the mid-high frequency range avoids the frequency range sensitive to human hearing, reducing the impact of crossover frequency interferences on perceived sound and providing a cohesive soundstage. The crossover point for the mid-bass range is set at 400Hz to achieve the best transition between the midrange and bass drivers, allowing both drivers to operate within their optimal frequency range.

The UA-50, specially designed to celebrate USHER's fiftieth anniversary, showcases the technical prowess accumulated by the manufacturer over fifty years, aiming to achieve the broadest and most balanced soundstage in a slightly larger bookshelf-type speaker. It achieves precise integration between each driver and delivers refined, dynamic, and unrestricted sound performance. Due to the challenging construction of the cabinet, the UA-50 is produced in limited quantities of 100 pairs worldwide, with each speaker plate bearing its unique serial number to indicate its exclusivity.
