The SoundTube MT POD is a Museum Tools speaker pod assembly designed for focused audio applications in museums, galleries, exhibits, and other commercial environments where sound needs to remain localized. It is part of SoundTube’s FP Focus Point Parabolic Series and is intended to be used with a compatible parabolic dome, such as the SS30 system, to create a controlled listening zone without unnecessarily spilling audio into surrounding areas. The MT POD is sold as the speaker assembly only; the dome is not included.

The pod can be installed in several ways depending on the exhibit design. Typical installations suspend the speaker from the ceiling using rigid conduit at heights of approximately 8 to 20 feet, but it can also be flush-mounted into a dropped ceiling or concealed above a loose-weave fabric panel. Multiple units can be aimed toward one location for a concentrated listening area, or mounted horizontally to create an audio threshold at the entrance to an exhibit or display.

Designed for professional commercial installations, the MT POD combines a compact speaker assembly with the flexibility needed for highly specialized audio zones. When paired with the appropriate SoundTube parabolic dome, the system provides a 45-degree coverage pattern and supports applications where speech, narration, music, or interactive content needs to be heard clearly within a defined area. The MT POD is also TAA and BAA compliant and is manufactured as part of SoundTube’s commercial FP Focus Point Parabolic product family.
