Silent Angel Bonn N16 LPS is an audiophile-grade network switch designed for music lovers building a high-quality digital streaming network. It uses a 16-port layout with two independent 8-port switch subsystems, allowing users to separate audio devices from general network traffic or configure the two zones in a daisy-chain arrangement. This dual-zone design gives the N16 LPS more flexibility than a standard network switch while keeping the focus on cleaner network delivery for high-resolution playback.
Inside the Bonn N16 LPS, each 8-port subsystem includes its own linear-powered TCXO clock module, which Silent Angel describes as more precise than a general crystal clock for lowering latency and jitter effects. The switch also uses high-permeability EMI absorbers rated above 120 at 1MHz to reduce electrical interference inside the system. Its built-in advanced linear power supply uses a toroidal transformer, power management circuitry, and MOSFET components to support stable operation for network audio use.
For system integration, the Bonn N16 LPS supports both parallel and series connection modes. In parallel mode, each zone can connect separately to an uplink router or switch, helping isolate audio devices from computers or other household network traffic. In series mode, Zone 1 connects to the uplink network and Zone 2 is daisy-chained for further signal purification before reaching audio devices. With Roon, high-resolution streaming services, NAS playback, rack-mount support, and 16 Gigabit Ethernet ports, the Silent Angel Bonn N16 LPS is built for serious streaming systems that need a dedicated audio network backbone.
