The Nitty Gritty Model 1.5 FI is an automatic vacuum record cleaning machine designed to make routine vinyl maintenance faster and easier. Unlike fully manual cleaning systems, the 1.5 FI automatically applies cleaning fluid and rotates the record during both the scrubbing and vacuum stages, reducing the amount of hands-on work required during each cleaning cycle.
At the center of the system is Nitty Gritty’s Capstan Record Drive, which automatically rotates the record during fluid application and vacuum suction. As the record turns, the vacuum strip fibers simultaneously scrub the surface, allowing cleaning and fluid removal to occur in one controlled process. This design eliminates the need to manually rotate or scrub the record while still providing direct vacuum extraction of spent cleaning fluid.
For collectors with larger vinyl libraries, the Model 1.5 FI provides a more convenient cleaning workflow than the Model 1.0 while retaining Nitty Gritty’s straightforward approach to record care. A slide-out waste tray makes disposal of used cleaning fluid simple, while the black vinyl cabinet gives the machine a clean, understated appearance suitable for a dedicated listening or record-care area.
