Grado - Signature S150 Open-Back Headphones

The Grado Signature S150 pairs a newly developed 44mm dynamic driver with a lightweight, open-back housing. Its paper-composite diaphragm draws on the technology Grado developed for the larger drivers in the HP100 SE and S950, adapted here for the smaller driver. The S150 is voiced for clear detail and a full-bodied presentation, giving bass lines a sense of weight while leaving room for the quieter textures of voices and instruments.

The single-piece acoustic chambers are molded from ABS polymer, and the headphones weigh 220g. Grado’s padded leather headband uses a flexible steel band to let you adjust how firmly the cushions sit against your ears, while stainless-steel rods set the height of each earcup. The supplied F cushions use acoustic slits that allow airflow and form part of the headphone’s tuning. Other Grado cushions are compatible, so listeners can try a different fit or change how the headphones sound. The Signature Bronze cable connects separately to each earcup through a pair of 3.5mm plugs. At the source end, the standard cable has a 3.5 mm plug and includes a 6.3 mm adapter for equipment with a full-size headphone jack.

Designed and hand-assembled in Brooklyn, New York., the S150 is suited to focused listening at home, where its open-back design can be enjoyed in a quiet room. The low weight and adjustable headband make it a practical choice for longer sessions, whether you’re listening to one record at a time or working through a full evening’s playlist.
