The Furutech Ag-12 Pure Transmission Silver-Plated Phono Cable is designed for analog playback systems where low-level cartridge signals need careful protection from noise, vibration, and contact resistance. Built for turntable-to-phono stage connection, the Ag-12 combines Furutech’s Pure Transmission design approach with high-quality conductor, insulation, shielding, and connector materials.
The Ag-12 uses α Alpha silver-plated μ-OFC conductors with air-foamed polyethylene insulation to support clean signal transfer from the tonearm. Its 4-layer shield construction helps reduce EMI and RFI interference, which is especially important for phono signals due to their very low output level. Furutech-engineered rhodium-plated DIN or L-DIN connectors pair with FP-126(R) Alpha-OCC RCA connectors for secure, low-resistance contact between the turntable and phono preamplifier.
Furutech also focuses on mechanical control throughout the Ag-12, using selected damping and insulation materials to support frequency extension and tonal balance. A carefully engineered cable clamp improves grip while reducing mechanically and electrically induced distortion.
