The Bryston BDA-3.14 combines a high-resolution digital-to-analog converter, network music streamer, and digital preamplifier within one compact component. Bryston integrates its established BDP streaming platform with the conversion architecture of the BDA-3, connecting the two sections internally through I²S for direct digital signal transfer. This unified design allows the BDA-3.14 to serve as the primary digital source and control center for a system built around a power amplifier, integrated amplifier, or active loudspeakers.
The internal streamer supports music playback through 24-bit/192kHz and provides access to TIDAL, Qobuz, Roon, Internet radio, connected USB drives, and network-attached storage. External digital sources can connect through two USB inputs, AES/EBU, RCA and BNC coaxial inputs, or optical input. The conversion stage supports PCM through 32-bit/384kHz and DSD through DSD256, while selectable upsampling is available for compatible inputs.
Separate analog and digital power supplies help isolate sensitive audio circuitry, while Bryston’s fully discrete Class A balanced output stage provides both XLR and RCA connections. Variable output control allows the BDA-3.14 to operate directly with a power amplifier, and system integration options include infrared, RS-232, IP, and 12V trigger control. An aluminum chassis, machined faceplate, multiple finish options, and Canadian manufacturing complete a digital component designed for high-performance music systems.
