The Bryston 14B³ Cubed is a reference-class dual-mono power amplifier designed to deliver the output capability of two powerful monoblocks from a single chassis. Each channel incorporates its own independent power supply and transformer, allowing the amplifier to deliver 600 watts per channel into 8 Ohms and up to 900 watts per channel into 4 Ohms. This high-current architecture gives the 14B³ the reserves needed to control demanding loudspeakers while preserving speed, dynamics, and low-level detail.
Bryston's Cubed-series design incorporates the company's patented Salomie input circuit, along with switchable 23dB and 29dB gain for compatibility with a wide range of preamplifiers. Balanced XLR and TRS inputs provide strong rejection of externally induced noise, while RCA connections accommodate conventional single-ended systems. The amplifier achieves less than 0.005% THD+N at its full 600-watt rated output into 8 Ohms, with bandwidth extending from below 1Hz to above 100kHz and a damping factor greater than 300.
The 14B³ is also engineered for dependable long-term use. Bryston eliminates cooling fans in favor of large passive heat sinks, while thermal protection circuitry monitors each amplifier channel and SoftStart manages the substantial inrush current produced during startup. A 5V to 12V trigger system allows integration with automated audio systems, and consumer as well as professional rack-mount configurations are available. With its heavy-duty machined aluminum construction, substantial 91-pound chassis, and Canadian manufacturing, the 14B³ is built for high-output stereo systems where control, reliability, and power reserve are priorities.
