The AVM Evolution CS 5.3 is a high-performance all-in-one streaming CD receiver designed to replace a stack of separate audio components with a single elegant centerpiece. It combines a powerful 2 x 350-watt amplifier, AVM's X-Stream Engine®, an integrated slot-in CD drive, high-resolution digital playback, and extensive analog and digital connectivity. HDMI ARC, MM/MC phono, Bluetooth 5.0, USB storage playback, optical and coaxial digital connections, and comprehensive network streaming allow the CS 5.3 to serve as the central hub for both traditional and modern music sources.
Its digital architecture is built around the ESS9028 PRO Double-Quad DAC, which uses four DAC channels per audio channel and supports high-resolution playback up to DSD256 and 32-bit/384kHz PCM. Streaming support includes AirPlay 2, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect MAX, HighResAudio, Internet Radio, and Roon Ready operation, while AVM RoomConneXion® adds multiroom functionality. Two high-level analog inputs, a configurable home-theater throughput mode, adjustable MM/MC phono loading, volume-controlled digital outputs, and front-panel headphone connectivity give the CS 5.3 exceptional flexibility for an all-in-one component.
The CS 5.3 incorporates a specially developed AVM tube line stage in the preamplifier section, with tubes engineered for an approximate service life of 20,000 hours. A viewing window in the top panel provides a direct look at the tube stage, adding a distinctive visual element to the design. Handcrafted at AVM's facility in Malsch, Germany, the CS 5.3 is available in silver or black aluminum with an optional CELLINI chrome-front treatment and qualifies for an extended warranty of up to four years with online registration.
