The Audeze MM-520 is a professional open-back headphone developed as a reliable reference for recording, mixing, mastering, and critical listening. Created in collaboration with producer and engineer Manny Marroquin, it is tuned to help engineers make confident decisions inside the studio or while working remotely. Its circumaural design presents music with an open sense of space, clear imaging, and the tonal precision needed to evaluate vocals, instruments, effects, and overall mix balance.
Audeze’s 90mm planar magnetic drivers combine Ultra-Thin Uniforce diaphragms, Fluxor magnet arrays, Fazor phase management, and SLAM acoustic technology. SLAM helps improve low-frequency definition and extension while preserving the focused midrange presentation required for professional monitoring. Frequency response extends from 5Hz to 50kHz, while distortion remains below 0.1% at 100dB SPL to support clean reproduction during demanding studio work.
With an 18-Ohm impedance and sensitivity of 102dB/1mW, the MM-520 can be partnered with professional interfaces, mixing consoles, headphone amplifiers, and compatible portable equipment. Upgraded memory-foam earpads use magnetic attachment for easier maintenance and replacement while supporting comfort during extended sessions. A detachable 8.2-foot cable, 3.5mm-to-6.3mm adapter, standard travel case, and MM-Series soft carry bag provide the accessories needed for studio and mobile production workflows.
