Atlantic Technology - In-Box-30 LCR - In-Wall Enclosure (Single)
The Atlantic Technology IN-BOX-30 LCR is a dedicated new-construction enclosure designed exclusively for the IWTS-30 LCR in-wall speaker. It provides the internal air volume required for the speaker to perform as intended and must be used with the IWTS-30 LCR to maintain applicable THX certification. The enclosure also provides moderate acoustic isolation, helping reduce the amount of sound transferred into the room behind the installed speaker.
The enclosure is designed for installation before drywall is applied and fits standard wall framing constructed with 2" x 4" studs spaced 16" on center. Installation in walls with studs spaced 24" on center is possible when additional framing is added to support both sides of the enclosure. Pre-installed polyester fiber batting provides the proper amount of acoustic damping and should remain in its original position without being compressed or supplemented.
For maximum stability, Atlantic Technology recommends supporting the enclosure with cross studs above and below, keeping its front flange flush with the front edges of the wall studs. Construction adhesive and screws should be used liberally to minimize vibration, rattling, and eventual wallboard movement. The speaker-wire opening should be drilled through the enclosure and adjacent stud, then completely sealed with flexible silicone caulk before the wallboard and IWTS-30 LCR speaker are installed.
