ATC - SCA2 - Discrete 2 Channel Stereo Preamplifier
The SCA2 is ATC’s highest performance preamplifier and has been in continuous production since 1996, testament to its exceptional performance and timeless styling. It is the ideal partner to ATC’s high-end active loudspeakers and also power amplifiers, such as the ATC P2. Balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs provide flexible connectivity to a very wide range of partnering equipment. The optional phono stage is fully configurable for both gain, resistive and capacitive loading and its low-noise design makes it well suited to even the lowest output moving coil cartridges.
Since the Company’s inception in 1974, ATC’s reputation for the design and manufacture of unique
high performance hi-fi and professional audio products has become legendary, with new design concepts evolving and being perfected continually.
The Company was originally created by acoustic engineer, Billy Woodman, to produce custom drive units for the professional sound industry. However, by the end of the 70s ATC was manufacturing its own complete high end speaker systems – its monitors subsequently becoming the preferred choice for many of the world’s major recording studios and engineers.
Fast forward to 1996 and ATC can be found designing and developing its first stand-alone hi-fi electronic product. At that time few preamplifiers were capable of driving the long lengths of cable often necessary to link electronics to active loudspeakers. In its ongoing quest for ultimate performance and value ATC’s solution was to develop a preamplifier that could! The result was the SCA2 – a true hi-fi preamplifier offering unparalleled audio performance, transparency and current drive ability.
Today, ATC’s portfolio of high-end audio electronic products continues to expand... from the breathtaking CA2 preamplifier to the exquisite P2 power amplifier. In 2011 the Company launched its first CD player, the CDA2, a design that also incorporated a preamplifier and DAC. In response to changing listening trends, in early 2018 the CDA2 was significantly upgraded and relaunched – the Mk2 model now boasting the latest high performance CD drive technology and USB interface allowing playback of extremely high resolution PCM and DSD audio.
Seen as a further evolution of this highly acclaimed digital source is ATC’s new stand-alone CD player, the CD2, which has been designed in parallel with a matching 100W integrated amplifier, the SIA2-100. Offering a built-in high resolution asynchronous USB interface the amplifier also incorporates a premium AKM stereo 32-bit DAC. These outstanding components offer music lovers an exceptional combination of performance and functionality.
Built to give a lifetime of service and musical enjoyment, all ATC products carry a 6-Year Manufacturer's Warranty.
