HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the first and most widely industry supported, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface. By delivering crystal- clear, all-digital audio and video via a single cable, HDMI dramatically simplifies most cabling applications and helps provide consumers with a near studio quality home theater experience. HDMI provides an interface between enabled A/V sources, such as a set-top box, Blu-ray unit (3D or standard), DVD player, most digital receivers, 4K capable devices and almost all current video display devices. Numerous versions (1.1 - 2.2) have backward compatibility but care must be taken to ensure full performance.

Due to the explosive popularity of this format, many low cost HDMI cables are not tested or certified. All Straight Wire HDMI cables are legitimately tested by noted independent labs and certified as "High Speed" rated.

The Ethernet channel adds high-speed networking to an HDMI link, allowing users to take full advantage of their IP-enabled devices without a separate Ethernet cable. Smaller, flexible jacket with varying gauge sizes and chipsets based upon length to provide economical yet consistent and reliable HDMI performance.
