Audio & Video Cables

High-quality audio and video cables provide reliable connections for speakers, amplifiers, source components, displays, networks, and complete home entertainment systems. The right cable begins with the components you're connecting and the type of signal being carried. Speaker cables connect amplifiers to loudspeakers, while RCA and balanced XLR interconnects link analog source components, preamplifiers, amplifiers, and other equipment. Dedicated subwoofer, phono, headphone, and jumper cables address more specialized audio connections.

Digital systems may require USB, Ethernet, HDMI, coaxial digital, or optical Toslink cables for audio, video, data, and network connections. Power cords provide AC connections for system components, while bulk wire and installation cable can accommodate custom home audio, theater, and professional installations.

Cable construction can vary in conductor material, geometry, shielding, dielectric materials, connectors, gauge, and termination. Matching the correct cable type, connector, length, and electrical requirements to your equipment helps create a dependable connection throughout an audio or video system.

Audio, Video, and Power Cable FAQs:

Does buying audiophile cables make a difference?
The short answer is "Yes." The reason is the better quality of materials, cable technology to build, connector construction, etc.. All these factors improve the video, audio, or power that flows through the cable. You don't need to purchase the most expensive cable for the best results. We always recommend at least get a solid entry-level cable for your system. It does make an difference.
Why is there such big price jumps with cables?
Solid question. A lot of the price factor on those high-end cables is the material used to construct them. Oxygen-free copper is much cheaper than solid silver conductor wire. Also, the technology and technique to manufacture cables can cause the price to be much higher than an entry-level cable.
