Do you really price match?
We will match any e-Commerce (Online store) Authorized USA Dealer's advertised price. Please call us toll free (877) 370-1972 and alert us to where you found the product cheaper. We will verify, and if the site is an Authorized US Dealer- we will match their price. However, if the price is below the manufacturer Minimum Advertised Price (MAP)- we will have to get authorization to match the price. We will not violate our signed agreements that we have with our vendors.
What about price matching from an auction site?
We do not price match any auction or "grey market" site.
Be advised, any purchases from an auction or unauthorized (grey market) websites can lead to future issues in regards to warranty or support. Most manufacturers will not honor any claims or warranty from these type of sales. Spend your money wisely by purchasing from an Authorized Dealer. In a lot of cases, saving a little bit of money can cost you more after the sale is completed.
We offer a 30 Day Return Policy should you choose to return a product for any reason.
Since 1972 Sound Approach has backed all items that we sell. If the product you have purchased is not right for you, let us know. We strive to find the right product for your unique situation. We will work with you to find a sound solution and recommend what product will resolve your issue. That being said, we will credit, refund, or exchange any product you purchase within 30 days of your purchase.
Certain products, may be returned, but are subject to a restocking fee of 20%. Please contact us to determine, before ordering, if the item will fall into this category. Usually it is for the high-end electronics & audiophile-grade speakers. We want to make sure that we match you with the correct product, so please call and speak to any of our technical experts prior to ordering.
Four Important Conditions:
1. We need to get the original box, manuals, and any materials that came with the product for you to receive a full refund- with no re-stocking charges. The item/product must still be in like-new condition.
2. If the item had Free Shipping and you are returning a non-defective product, the original shipping cost will be deducted from the total that will be refunded back.
3. Special Ordered items are not returnable (see below).
4. Once an RMA is issued- it is valid for 10 business days. After 10 days, the RMA is canceled and returns will not be accepted.
Shipping and handling charges cannot be reimbursed unless it is our mistake. Yes, we can make mistakes – not often, but it can happen.
Wharfedale - D310 - 4" 2-Way Bookshelf Speakers (Pair)
The Bookshelf Loudspeaker That Puts an End to Price-to-Performance Stereotypes: Wharfedale D310 Features Four-Inch Kevlar Cone Drivers, Delivers Serious Expressiveness, Depth, and Punch
The sub-$250 price tag of the Wharfedale D310 bookshelf loudspeaker automatically triggers thoughts of a notion long thought to be true throughout high-end audio: That no speaker at or below such a cost threshold could possibly offer the performance any self-respecting music lover would want, even within a budget-minded context. Well, think again. D310 exists to submarine all such stereotypes while also proving larger size doesn't always matter, particularly when what's inside gets taken into account.
Bolstered by drivers based off those used in Wharfedale's more expensive Diamond 11 Series, D310 owes its smart industrial design to the award-winning Keiron Dunk and acoustic pedigree to famed British engineer Peter Comeau. Each D310 features a four-inch woven Kevlar cone bass/mid driver, a super-long-throw voice-coil motor system complete with a custom-shaped one-piece pole plate fitted with a copper cap, and oversized ceramic magnets. Also onboard: Wharfedale's trademarked WFR (Wide Frequency Response) one-inch tweeter, which incorporates its own cabinet, as well as a trademarked P-EQ (Pressure Equalization) port system. Both, too, stem from developments in Diamond 11 Series. Profiled 1.1-inch-thick front baffles that reduce diffraction reflections, critically braced panels, fiber-lined walls, and a software-developed crossover with low-loss polypropylene capacitors and laminated core inductors continue the mind-boggling array of audio-minded elements.
Trickle-down technology and form-follows-function build aside, your job is to solely enjoy the engaging sound provided by D310 on basically every type of music that comes to mind. And we know you won't have any problem falling in love with D310. High-frequency responsiveness, emotional expressiveness, midrange definition, and substantial soundstages are no longer the exclusive parlance of much more expensive speakers. Ditto deep, controlled, and efficient bass. You can even place D310 close to rear walls without negatively impacting its output. Is D310 for real?
Advanced Bass and Midrange Drivers
For the bass/mid drivers, the latest generation of Wharfedale’s long-established woven Kevlar® cones are bonded to a super-lightweight surround made of hi-tech foamed polyether, delivering remarkable clarity, texture. and musical expression. These cones are driven by a super-long-throw voice coil motor system, enabling low-frequency linearity and accuracy that is exceptional for such low-cost loudspeakers. The use of a specially shaped one-piece pole plate fitted with a copper cap reduces inductance and controls the magnetic flux, ensuring low distortion.
Trademarked WFR Treble Unit
Developed for the Diamond 11 Series and fine-tuned for the D300 range, Wharfedale’s WFR (Wide Frequency Response) tweeter incorporates its own cabinet—a precisely shaped rear chamber damped with a fiber filling. An over-sized ceramic magnet, selected to give a smoother transition from midrange to high frequencies, is attached to a pole piece with copper cap for flux control. The pole piece is vented through to the rear chamber to achieve a low resonant frequency, ensuring excellent linearity and allowing the textile dome, sited within a dished waveguide, to contribute to a wonderfully lucid midrange as well as smooth, pure, and richly defined high-frequency detail.
P-EQ Bass Reflex Port
Developed from the Slot-Loaded Distributed Port found in Diamond 11 Series, the D300 Series’ P-EQ (Pressure Equalization) port system is critical to the speakers’ deep and controlled bass performance. Low-bass frequencies emitted from the rear surface of the bass driver travel through a downward-firing port in the base of the speaker, with precisely curved openings to smooth airflow. These frequencies exit into the room omnidirectionally through a gap between the cabinet and the surface on which it rests (or, in the case of the D330, between cabinet and plinth), formed by four feet attached to the speaker’s base. This reduces the pressure differential between the high pressure in the port and the low pressure in the room, thus eradicating the turbulence and audible ‘chuffing’ suffered by conventional ported systems whilst aiding bass reflex efficiency.
Custom Crossover and Cabinet Design
The output of the drive units is carefully combined by a thoroughly researched crossover developed using Wharfedale’s Advanced Software and Listening Iteration system. Each crossover is carefully evaluated using a wide range of music, with the emphasis being on the lifelike reproduction of voices and instruments in addition to the dynamics of the musical performance. Crossover components feature low-loss polypropylene capacitors and laminated core inductors for optimum transfer of the music signal. The acoustically profiled cabinets feature 28mm-thick front baffles – a luxury, engineering touch to such low-cost speakers – profiled at the edges to reduce diffraction edge reflections at mid-to-high frequencies. Critical bracing of the cabinet panels contributes to the eradication of audible resonance and, combined with the rounded cabinet edges, yields a rigid base on which to mount the drive units. In addition, the cabinet walls are lined with a specially developed internal fiber, chosen for its outstanding absorbent qualities across a wide bandwidth. You’ll hear the drive unit output unsullied by unwanted colorations caused by panel vibration or internal resonances, revealing more of the detail of the musical performance.
