AudioQuest - Irish Red - Analog RCA Subwoofer Cable (Single)
The Irish Setter is a distant ancestor of the Spanish Pointer and is actually a mix of the English Setter, the Gordon Setter and the Irish Water Spaniel. Irish Setters are known for their friendly, fun-loving and outgoing temperament. These dogs have a natural love of exploring and enjoy a good game of fetch above all. This trait undoubtedly traces back to the Irish Setter’s breeding to be useful to hunters on foot. Irish Setters’ intelligence and naturally calm and friendly demeanor make them superbly suitable as therapy or support dogs.
Much like it's namesake, the Irish Red is the culmination of several different AudioQuest lines. With Solid 0.5% Silver Conductors; Symmetrical Coaxial Geometry; Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation and Cold-welded, Gold-plated Terminations: Irish Red is a good, working Subwoofer Cable. AudioQuest's Irish Red may not be flashy like the Mythical Creatures Series, but it is an excellently-engineered, graceful addition to the AudioQuest subwoofer cable line.
Solid .5% Silver-Plated Copper Conductors are a superbly cost-effective way to maximize a video or digital cable, harsh and horrible for full-range audio, but like turning up the sharpness for a subwoofer, enhancing articulation and intelligibility.
It's easy to accomplish 100% shield coverage. Preventing captured radio-frequency interference (RFI) from modulating the equipment's ground reference requires AudioQuest's Noise-Dissipation. Traditional shield systems typically absorb and then drain noise/RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical Reference ground plane, which in turn causes a distortion of the signal. Noise-Dissipation shields the shield, absorbing and reflecting most of this noise/RF energy before it reaches the layer attached to ground.
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Because air absorbs next to no energy and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile, Foamed-PE, with its high air content, causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials.
